Product Overview

Someone closes the valve for service, opens it again, and the branch is no longer where it was set. The GF-SBV-01 records that setting as a number on the handwheel, one full turn per scale position, and a memory lock holds it through shut-off and reopening. Brass CW617N body with CW602N bonnet, PN20, −10 to +120 °C, BSPP to ISO 228-1, DN15 to DN32 with Kvs from 1.6 to 6.3 m³/h.

What the setting does

One full turn of the handwheel equals one scale position. A setting read off the flow chart can be reproduced exactly by the next person on site.

The memory lock holds the preset while the handwheel turns to fully open and back, so the valve can be shut off for isolation and reopened without touching the setting.

Two self-sealing test ports sit one on each side of the valve. A differential-pressure meter connects to both at once, For flow at a given opening, request the verified flow curve for the exact valve configuration and size.

Where it goes

Branch balancing in two-pipe cooling and heating systems, domestic water distribution, and terminal circuits controlled by a differential pressure control valve. The GF-SBV-01 goes in the supply pipe and the DPCV in the return, with a capillary from the DPCV impulse connection to the supply pipe downstream of the balance valve.

Common questions

Why does a circuit drift out of balance after service?

The handwheel is turned to close the valve and nobody writes the position down. On the GF-SBV-01 the setting is a scale number, one full turn per position, and the memory lock holds it while the valve closes and reopens. The branch returns to the flow it had before.

Can I measure flow without draining the circuit?

Yes. Two self-sealing test ports sit one on each side. Connect a differential-pressure meter to both, read the pressure drop at the current opening, and consult the verified flow curve for the exact valve configuration and size. The circuit stays full.

Which size for 0.9 m³/h at 40 kPa?

Request the verified flow curve for the exact valve configuration and DN before determining a setting. The flow and pressure values alone do not establish a verified setting.

Standard body material: brass CW617N (CuZn40Pb2; EN 12164 / EN 12165).

Other grades: HPb59-1 (GB/T 5231) and CW602N dezincification-resistant brass. Both are available on request and must be stated on the order. We do not substitute a different grade without your written approval.

Minimum order quantity: applies to all three grades.

Lead content: all three are leaded brass. CW617N carries 1.6–2.5% lead, and HPb59-1 carries 0.8–1.9%. For potable water, confirm the lead-leaching limits of the destination market before ordering.

Material certificate: EN 10204 3.1 on request. The grade stated on the certificate governs.
